Some DJ’s are recognised for having good taste, others influence taste. Popularity chasing is widespread, especially in an era marked by an obsession with “the DJ”, however a few true tastemakers sit and converse amongst their global crate-digging peers, quietly influencing your favourite DJ. Andrew Hogge, who you might know better as Lovefingers, is one such DJ.

Andrew inhabits a world where House, Techno, Disco, dubbed-out oddities and psychedelic left turns weave together. Many aspiring DJ’s, now household names, owe Lovefingers a debt of gratitude as he spent years in the mid 00s relentlessly perfecting a track-per-day playlist on his lovefingers.org (which gave him his DJ name as he was invited to tour globally as a result). The site is lauded by a generation for expending their ears and inciting their love of digging, was the first and what some audiophiles consider to be the finest music thread to ever grace the Web, and has since launched a series of acclaimed Fingertracks compilations a decade after sharing its final track. Andrew is much more than an eclectic archivist however; he’s an in-demand club DJ, multi-instrumentalist, remixer and the creative and eye of the vinyl-lead imprint, ESP Institute. He brings that sense of adventure to the nether regions of dance music, playing for discerning dancefloors in the US such as Nowadays, Good Room, Smartbar, Public Records, and further afield at treasures such as Panorama Bar, Fabric, Lux and Yellow Tokyo.

The LA native has released and produced widely sought after releases from a range of esoteric artists all while maintaining his trademark future-forward sound and aesthetic. During his near decade of disco deviance in 00’s New York City, his moniker The Stallions (alongside longtime collaborator and friend Lee Douglas) became a cult outfit for late debaucherous parties as well as imaginative and timeless remixes. He’s also collaborated on productions with Eddie Ruscha as Secret Fingers and remixed alongside his often DJ partner Heidi Lawden.

From day one, Andrew’s ESP Institute releases have found their way into the bags of dance-floor heavyhitters from DJ Harvey, Sven Vath, Avalon Emerson, and Kim Ann Foxman to Laurent Garnier, Dixon, Nina Kraviz, Todd Terje, Lena Willikins and the late greats David Mancuso & Andrew Weatherall. While juggling all of the above and being an in-demand Creative Director, Lovefingers carves out time to play club nights, festivals, all-night-long warehouse and loft parties, including his own ESP Institute happenings in LA and abroad as well as stages / label nights abroad at Panorama Bar, Sonar, Love International, Cocktail d’Amore, Ostbanhof. He hosts his own monthly ESP radio show on LA’s iconic Dublab, has been one of the most frequent guests on cult radio show Beats In Space, and delivered a Dekmantel that sits among the festival’s esteemed mix series’ most streamed to date.

If one thing has driven his myriad endeavors since the beginning, it's the love of sharing music and dancing, pure and simple. He’s also just a really good time!
