Maurice Fulton drops New Album ‘Night Blooming Cereus’ under Boof Alias
The prolific output of Maurice Fulton continues! This time with a brand new 10 track LP under his ‘Boof’ alias.
The Cereus, a North American cactus plant that only blooms its bright white flowers at night to attract pollinators, is a fitting name for an album so clearly indebted to and made for the late night club.
With all instruments performed by Maurice himself, the LP can best described as a deep yet accessible album of disco inflected house music drawing on dub, jazz, and the wonkier end of the synth pop spectrum. ‘Night Blooming Cereus’ is a celebration of endless energy and creativity of nightlife and those who come into bloom at night.
